Fresh flavour and texture:
We
use only the freshest ingredients in the cooking of all our products.
Rapid freezing, using our state-of-the art equipment, means that water in the
food is frozen into smaller ice crystals, minimising damage to the cell structure
of the food.
When you heat one of our meals in a microwave or conventional oven, product quality
is extremely close to the original freshly-prepared food.
Nutritional value:
Foods which are quick-frozen when they are at the peak of their flavour retain
higher nutritional value and do not require any other method of preservation.
In addition, they retain nutritional value because storage at temperatures below
-18° C slows natural degradation processes to almost nil.
Food safety:
We have a New Zealand Foood Safety Authority approved HACCP-Food Safety
Plan, and regular annual auditing by Verification New Zealand ensure that we
maintain proper standards.
Rapid freezing and low-temperature (below -18° C) storage ensure that the
bacteria which cause food spoilage and food poisoning cannot grow. No other
form of preservation is required.
